Miami Geologists Headed West for Wind River Camp
A two-truck Miami University geology field trip leaves Wednesday for Timber Line Ranch near Dubois Wyoming. The 1956 program is the largest and most diverse yet with 100 students from 33 colleges in 20 states and two foreign countries. Participants include eight Ohioans and 10 Miami students, plus faculty Limper Reinhart Marton and replacement Scotford for the second session.

Test Range Of Missile Is Extended
The United States and Britain formally extended the U S test range to 5 000 miles into the Atlantic allowing fuller testing of two strategic guided missiles the Snark and Navaho. The range now reaches Ascension Island British controlled midway between South America and Africa.

Enka man charged after drunken highway blockade attempt
Sylva North Carolina report says Edgar Shepheard, 27, of Enka, is charged with assault drunkenness obstructing a highway and impersonating an officer after allegedly setting up a timber blockade on a local road and attempting to inspect licenses. Mrs. Kate Wilson filed the warrant. she was hospitalized for shock after a frightening incident. Police said she mistook Shepheard for a man named Alfred Wilson, an Ohio trucker wanted for murder.

County Democrats plan campaign committees for the fall election have been named by the Butler County Democratic Executive and Central Committees. Harry B. Grevey, party secretary, says Frank Dobrozsi of Middletown and Jackson Bosch of Hamilton are co chairmen of the Jackson Day dinner to be held in Middletown in October. John Lenihan of Hamilton was named chairman of the Democratic picnic committee, with the picnic scheduled for August. Other committees include advertising with Jackson Bosch as chair.

Police shot and killed Fred Heberling fifty owner of a case after a gun battle in a cafe. Heberling was distraught over his wife's divorce action and had been threatening officers, deputies said. The incident followed a court restraining order against him.
