Trenton shelter tops capacity as cats await homes
Animal Friends Humane Society Director Leland Gordon says since January 1 about 1350 cats arrived at the Trenton area shelter and only slightly over 300 had been adopted by early this week. Overcrowding fills kennel and garage areas as heat and lack of air conditioning worsen conditions, prompting euthanasia. Efforts include price cuts, mobile adoptions in Butler County, foster care, and outreach to find permanent homes for cats.
