Air mail from Jackson Wyoming arrived in Idaho Falls nearly a day before it was sent, with a postmark showing June 22 at 3 p.m. while the letters reached at 3:55 p.m. on June 21. Officials blamed a faulty cancellation machine. The USS Saratoga is the sixth U S naval vessel to bear the name.
