Federal Judge Garrity rules Boston public schools intentionally segregated and orders immediate remedial plans. He cites a dual system across 202 schools with 95 000 students and vows root and branch elimination despite appeals.
In Moscow security police reportedly round up Jews active in seeking exit visas to Israel. Detentions affect scientists and a radio engineer, with arrests including Vladimir Slepak and Alexander Voronel. Detainees describe raids and a climate of fear ahead of President Nixon's upcoming visit.
