Hospital Expands Dietary Department and Modernizes Waste System
Middletown Hospital enlarges the dietary department nearly doubling space to 4,720 square feet and installs a giant dishwasher that can process up to 12,500 dishes per hour. A pulping machine reduces waste by 80 percent and a can crusher handles gallon cans. The unit will employ about 70 people and aims for ten years of growth with steam-cleaned food carts forthcoming.
