Gardner Board and Carton Company workers launch a $2,000,000 hospital drive to fund five memorial rooms at Middletown Hospital. Each $5,000 tribute honors veterans Donald Hadley, William Henderson, Oliver Kash, Christy Snyder, and Ralph Gray, buried in Woodside War Memorial Plot. Memorials include bronze plaques and sculpted reliefs, with 14 female employees soliciting donations. Total Gardner memorials, including company gifts, projected around $120,000.
