Fifth Third eyes non interest income growth in Q2
Fifth Third Bancorp said in an SEC filing it expects sequential improvement in its non interest income in the second quarter, aided by a pickup in retail sales. First quarter net income fell to $405 million from $430 million a year earlier, with the bank attributing part of the drop to its Florida acquisition. The lender noted mortgage banking revenue should stay steady and expenses stay flat, and it will report Q2 results on July 14.
