Ohio Marines Among Five Killed in Western Iraq Attack
Three Akron based Ohio Marines from the 3rd Battalion 25th Marine Regiment died in a Thursday Haqlaniyah explosion. Lance Cpl. Thomas Keeling, Lance Cpl. Devon Seymour, and Cpl. Brad Squires were part of Marine Forces Reserve. A Marine from Idaho and another from Washington state also died. Seymour, a Utica High School graduate, left a lasting family story as his father, an Ohio National Guardsman, reflected on his son joining after 9 11. Squires had married just before deployment and is survived by his wife and family.
