In Inverness Florida a 14 year old girl Delene Bogart abducted from a riverside picnic by a man in a stolen canoe who pulled a gun and took the girl in her boyfriend Timmy Shaw age 15's car. The boy was unharmed and police spread out with local residents using CB radios in a search along the Withlacoochee River. The suspect wore stolen clothing and carried an automatic pistol. the case remains under investigation with no ransom note reported.

Filmmaker Zukor dies at 103 in Los Angeles

Adolph Zukor, immigrant founder of Paramount Pictures and pioneer of feature-length films, died at age 103 in his Century City apartment from natural causes. He helped bring Queen Elizabeth to America in 1911 and cast stars including Sarah Bernhardt John Barrymore and Mary Pickford.
