Miami University President John D. Millett told the Oxford Kiwanis Club that expansion pressures on the university and community are inevitable as enrollment climbs from about 5,100 in 1953 toward 9,000 next September and beyond. He noted a payroll of about 1,500 staffers and an operating budget of 18.06 million for 1964-65, with most payrolls staying in Oxford, and urged more low cost housing and school support to sustain growth.
