Acoustical holography promises 3D seeing with sound
AP Science Writer Ralph Dighton explains acoustical holography as a developing technique using inaudible sound waves to create three dimensional, colored medical images and structures. It could enable better diagnostics without radiation and guide surgery via magnified 3D displays, while holograms store depth information beyond ordinary photos.
