Defendant testifies in rape assault case in Ohio

Antwan Hall, 24, testified he admitted to sex with and beating an acquaintance as a story to police and that none of it happened. He faces two counts each of rape and kidnapping and one count each of aggravated robbery and felonious assault from the Jan. 24 incident at Tina's Bar in Middletown. The victim testified she was raped and beaten after refusing his advances. Hall said the bar visit involved selling crack and that the Jan. 24 events did not occur as described. He corroborated prior consensual acts but denied tying her up or sex on Jan. 24. Closing arguments await jury deliberation.
