Taft wins pivotal tax reform in Ohio Senate approval
The Ohio Senate passed a budget largely preserving Taft’s tax overhaul, including a 21 percent personal income tax cut and a broad gross receipts tax. Critics say it favors the rich while funds for schools and health care are at risk. Republicans and Democrats clash over beer wine and cigarette taxes as the chamber backs a long term fiscal plan amid a crisis period.
