Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, recently divorced, attend a Bob Hope party celebrating Ball’s return to film. Arnaz appears on the film set where the picture will be made, with an aide noting he owns the studio and need not be invited.
Kenneth Earnest, 22, a professional snake handler, was bitten by a tiger snake on May 17 at the Buena Park snake farm. Doctors faced five to one odds against survival as venom paralyzed his breathing and muscles. Serum from the San Diego Zoo and blood transfusions aided recovery. He returned home after four days breathing on his own and plans to resume work caring for 3,000 snakes and alligators. Dr Findlay Russell calls the case a potential standard treatment study.
In San Francisco police say 35-year-old real estate developer William Edell shot his wife Miletta Edell 38 then killed himself after divorce papers were served. Their 3-year-old daughter Lee Ann Edell was cared for by neighbor Marie Fakoury after a seven hour ordeal as she tried to wake her parents.
In Keene New Hampshire William H Renz 11 was electrocuted after climbing an electric pole to inspect a bird nest on Thursday Investigators described the accident as fatal and ruled it an unfortunate youth misadventure involving an outdoor utility line.
The White House rejects Khrushchev’s claim that Eisenhower opposes German unification. Khrushchev vows a cold war push to discredit Eisenhower and isolate the U.S. from allies. A House panel backs a limited health aid plan costing about 340 million dollars annually for roughly 12 million elderly people.

They had left a Kentucky side boat harbor near 11 p.m. EST Thursday. Huston helped by Harold Skaggs of Louisville retrieved hours later. Police recovered Vail's body tangled in ropes as the boat was towed. Lawrenceburg and North Bend are nearby across from Cincinnati.
Myrton Purser 38 pleaded guilty in Salt Lake City court to destruction of property and drunkenness. He was fined 25 dollars and demanded the return of his shoes after police seized them as evidence following distinctive shoe prints mashed into the hood of a small imported car.
Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev assailed President Eisenhower as lacking willpower and questioned Nixon as a working partner. He called Eisenhower's era a dark period, joked about a future job for Eisenhower, and outlined disarmament steps including open skies and abolition of foreign bases.
