Plan to curb IAEA scrutiny of Saudi nuclear status
In Vienna, the IAEA asks key members to back Saudi Arabia’s request that would limit outside verification of Riyadh’s nuclear status. If approved, the move would give Saudi Arabia a formal mechanism to minimize IAEA oversight while requiring Riyadh to share status updates that the agency could not automatically challenge or verify.
