Shafer Street resurfacing faces objections over cost and discrimination
Property owners on Shafer Street between Elmo Place and Miami Avenue oppose city resurfacing orders that would cost about 6.40 per linear foot for curbs and gutters. They accuse the city commission of treating Shafer Street differently from Elmo Place, urging the city to widen the street at its expense or apply the same option given to adjacent blocks. J Black Little and Melvin Duff cited by name, with attendance noted at a recent commission meeting.
