AK Steel lays off 15 more in Middletown
Thomas GNAU reports AK Steel Corp. cut 15 more Middletown Works workers on Thursday, bringing total layoffs to 30 after last week's 15 cuts. The company, while profitable, posted 92.7 million in net income for Q2 2004, yielding only 18 cents a share. The Armco Employees Independent Federation says a voluntary layoff program could let bargaining unit members with over two years’ tenure volunteer to be laid off with a seven day return notice.
