Skylab 2 Mission Begins Longest Space Flight
Three American astronauts Alan Bean Owen Garriott and Jack Lousma launched from Cape Kennedy aboard a Saturn I B rocket to reach the Skylab space station and begin a 59 day mission. They aimed to dock with the unmanned lab and conduct extended studies of the sun stars earth and human adaptation to long duration spaceflight. Seven die in fiery turnpike crash
CHERRY HILL New Jersey AP seven persons died early today on the turnpike when a moving van crossed the median and collided head on with a camper. The truck driver Anzor Cengiz 33 of Paterson was identified. Cengiz’s brother Cagar 21 Paterson survived in serious condition with internal injuries.
