Charter Changes To Be Submitted To City Commission
City Charter revisions rewritten in legal terms will be submitted to the City Commission Wednesday night. Elliott D. Levey says copies will be distributed for study before the meeting. Five proposals were unanimously approved, aiming to empower a full time city manager, raise debt limit, adjust election timing, and streamline ordinances, with voter consideration planned for November. Some commissioners remain cool or opposed, potentially yielding a 3-2 vote against the package. Levey notes the commission is morally bound to present the revisions to voters.
