Ohio may win a national park along the old Akron to Cleveland canal. The plan, backed by Rep. Vanik, envisions a series of parks along the 308 mile waterway once polluted and dry in many stretches. Interior Secretary Udall called it a good candidate for federal study.

Ohio Sweet Corn Imports Lag as Weather Delays Peak Harvest
Ohio grown sweet corn arrives a week to ten days late due to May freeze damage and cool weather delaying germination. The peak supply runs May to September with July and August delivering the largest shares, while Florida supplies much of the fall and winter market. Prices fall when harvest is abundant and rise as supply tightens. Ohio producers supply a large portion of local corn during May through October.
