Edgewood adopts administrator concealed carry policy in Ohio
Edgewood Schools approved a district policy allowing administrators to carry firearms on school grounds with board approval and an Ohio concealed carry license. Training must include a basic peace officer course at personal expense unless the administrator has 20 years of law enforcement experience. Teachers remain ineligible. Similar policy in Newcomerstown requires concealed carry license and extensive training. Community reactions were mixed with calls for metal detectors and careful liability considerations.
