Church gains contributions amid membership drop nationwide
The Presbyterian Church reports a 9 percent decline in national membership last year while contributions rose about 18 percent. In 1977 contributions totaled $245.2 million, up $37.2 million from 1976, and the average donation reached $280 versus $236 in 1976. Membership fell by 7,923 to 874,897.
