Premier Constantine Caramanlis announces a 12 member cabinet and grants a general amnesty for political prisoners from the seven year dictatorship. Citizenship is restored to the deprived, including Melina Mercouri and Mikis Theodorakis, with Pasatose camp closed and leftists excluded from government. Foreign Minister George Mavros denounces the Cyprus coup and backs UN Security Council decisions.

President Nixon said he respects and accepts the Supreme Court decision ordering surrender of 64 additional tapes and documents. James D. St. Clair, Nixon's lawyer, announced the compliance plan after extensive talks at Nixon’s San Clemente home.
