DP&L Denied Major Rate Hike by PUCO in Ohio
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio rejected most of Dayton Power & Light Co.’s proposed electric rate increase, granting only 567000 of 30000000 and upholding a 9.48 percent return. The decision, along party lines, upheld a separate 6200000 of a 14000000 gas-rate rise for DP&L’s gas customers. The case tests a year‑old law changing rate base calculations and requires nine month resolution. Columbia Gas Ohio also won permission to pass through higher gas costs to industrials to limit curtailments.
