Ohio Increases Draft Pool To 6 7 Thousand

Gus Grissom Survives Capsule Sinking After Atlantic Plunge

Astronaut Gus Grissom escaped a sinking space capsule in the Atlantic aboard the USS Randolph. He swam about 70 feet after the craft lost buoyancy, was retrieved by a Marine helicopter within two minutes, and later reported feeling sea water in his head.
