Drivers Warned On Goof Pills Endangering Road Safety
State Highway Patrol warned of sleep killing pills known as bennies and goof pills used by drivers, warning drowsiness easing effects followed by impaired judgment. Cases include a trucker found in near stupor and another whose weight dropped 40 pounds after six months of use. Officials caution against benzedrine derivatives, urge rest as safe remedy, and say any sale is reported to the FDA for action.
