Flying Tiger expands night freight to Cincinnati
Flying Tiger Airlines began daily night air freight from Cincinnati, the first southern Ohio service in four years. Joseph J Healy, executive VP, calls it a big step for the community and notes Cincinnati is the seventh city this year for the private freighter. The firm has spent 50 million dollars since January to grow, hired 200 pilots to reach 600, and added seven jet freighters as deregulation of the air freight industry moved forward. Healy credits CAB limits since 1948 and says the company moves values, not pounds, competing with road and rail.
