Plane lands safely after emergency Constellation flight
An Air Force C 21A Constellation diverted to Lunken Airport from a classified mission after an elevator cable failure caused intense vibration. Maj. Robert Miller said instruments and radios failed, the control column bounced, and communication was difficult. The aircraft, built in 1948, had been Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s personal plane during the Korean War.
