Louisville Firemen Back at Pickets as Talks Fail
Armed National Guardsmen returned to Louisville fire stations after all night negotiations collapsed. City officials pushed for a return to work before resuming talks, aiming to avoid court contempt. Firefighters from Local 345 had ended a 13 hour walkout, but the strike resumed after an early Saturday morning breakdown. Several calls to emergency services were logged as the city maintained armed guards at stations.
