21 Still Age For Voting In November
Columbus Ohio AP The minimum voting age stays 21 for the November 1970 elections. Secretary of State Ted W Brow says the federal 18 year old voting age takes effect January 1 1971. U S Attorney General John Mitchell has asked states to provide written assurance by August 3 they will comply with the new law. Brow warns the request could mislead 18 19 and 20 year olds into thinking 18 year olds can vote in November 1970. He will furnish the written assurance promptly.
