Man survives near fatal dam jump on Great Miami River
Franklin Olterman, 39, of Camden, escaped serious harm after launching his 18‑foot motorboat over a low dam on the Great Miami River. He was traveling 35 to 40 mph when he hit the dam, damaging the boat and propeller. Missing warning buoys and unseen signs contributed to the mishap. No charges filed.
