New Building Material Promises Wood Look Without Rot
A man made composite combines processed wood asbestos fibers and cement to form a siding material that cuts like wood but resists rot and electricity. Production limits its early reach to the South but will expand nationwide for homes and other uses. The product is preshrunk and primed, paints well with latex or oil, nails without predrilling, and has no grain or knots. The second item is a new exterior latex paint that eliminates priming and etching for bare galvanized gutters and eaves and dries quickly for recoating. It can also be used on aluminum, requiring only removal of any oil coating.
