Astronomers deduced a planet orbiting HD 37605 in Orion by star wiggling, confirming HD 37605b as a gas giant at least 2.8 times Jupiter’s mass. It completes an orbit every 54 days, about 140 light years away, making it the 123rd planet found outside the solar system. Discovery reported in The Dallas Morning News online edition.
Insurgents ambushed two U S patrols north of Baghdad on Sunday killing three soldiers and a civilian while wounding others. In Samarra a roadside bomb and exchange of fire killed two more soldiers and wounded three.
