Middletown Parking Plan Adds To Master Plan
Middletown plans to expand parking over the next 25 years to ease congestion. The report by L. Segee and Associates for City Planning calls for strategically located city owned lots near main districts and low cost access to shoppers and workers. Planning Commissioner William Heath notes parking is becoming acute and that improvements are needed to keep retail trade competitive, with downtown vehicle flow and space usage analyzed from 1949 data showing 23,000 daily downtown entries and a shortage of legal spaces.
