Solon's Son Works as Hired Hand in Nebraska
Joshua Javits, 19, son of Sen. Jacob Javits, spends part of his summer on an Ogallala farm. He works 12 hours daily, six days a week, learning ranching and crop duties while comparing Midwestern life to New York. He aims to see Nebraska, be anonymous, and gain perspective on farming.
