Inmate Beaten in Butler County Jail Near Death
An 18 year old prisoner, Kenneth Lyttle of Hamilton, remained near death at Mercy Hospital after a severe beating in the Butler County jail last Friday night. Sheriff Walke sought to learn who attacked him as concerns about jail conditions rise. A former prisoner from Middletown claimed broad culpability among inmates and alleged prior sexual molestation in a shower room. The county contemplates a $750,000 ballot measure for a courthouse expansion to add a new jail.
