Royal Tour Brings Queen to War Echoes in Ontario
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip tour southwest Ontario as flags fly at Battleford House near Hamilton. The visit recalls the 1812 Battle of Stoney Creek where British forces repelled American attacks. A Brantford uprising involving Iroquois chiefs challenged local authority, with possible petition aims noted. The couple then proceeds to Stratford for the Shakespeare festival.
