Lead and Cadmium Found in Wells Near Landfills
Hamilton area tests near three county landfills show small amounts of lead and cadmium in wells used to test water tables not for drinking. Dr. Louis W. Gaker noted some wells near Butler Cony, Plywood Champion facility, and Schheiner landfill contained the elements while others remained clear. Tests by Miami Conservancy District sanitary engineers indicated levels slightly above accepted standards.
