Legend of Floyd Collins Remains A Kentucky Tale Past Forty Years
The Jan 31 1925 cave disaster at Sand Cave near Cave City Kentucky drew crowds as Floyd Collins was trapped for 17 days. Jewell Estes aided the rescue while reporters from many states covered the story earning a Pulitzer for Skeets Miller. Collins died soon after rescue efforts began.
