Husband Held To Jury In Wife Fire Death
In Fostoria Ohio municipal court judge bound Robert S Moore 20 to the Seneca County grand jury on a first degree murder charge after a preliminary hearing. Police charged Moore with killing his wife Phyllis 19 in a January 4 home fire. Pathologist Dr William Hoffman testified she was stabbed before the body burned while a fire official noted the stove was intact and a gasoline canvas found between her legs. The defense disputed the stab wound as the cause of death while autopsy records indicated she died from the fire with the woman alive at the time of burns. Moore said he tried to rescue his children and was driven back by flames.
