Back-Up Water Claim Spurred Dixie Heights Flood Plan
Dixie Heights residents faced flooding as the Hydraulic Canal overflow threatened 100 homes. C F Myers, president of the Dixie Heights Improvement League, argued the flood was a back up from downstream, not a gate overflow, and urged canal relocation with gates returned to the dam and a new flume and controls. He proposed starting at Tytus Ave and Hawthorne St to the dam with a 19 foot river setback toward the West Middletown bridge.
