Mountains Pumped Up by Hydraulic Uplift Theory

Pasadena California based geophysicist Dr. C Hewitt Dix proposes mountains grow by high pressure intrusion of molten rock into the crust. After detonating Mojave tests he observed wave patterns suggesting vertical magma moves into horizontal cracks forming sills that lift peaks as erosion reduces weight. He ties this to ocean basins where sediment load may prevent sill formation and lift the sea floor.
