Oneida Pupils Fit For 35 Dollars Start Gym Program
Oneida Elementary School on Yankee Road launches a self funded physical education program costing 35 dollars. Principal Clemens B Shull and instructor Ramon Meredith built parallel bars balancing beam chest pulley weights scooters and sit up inclines from scratch. They believe a fit body boosts academics and social balance aligning with Kennedy era physical education goals. Meredith, from Kinman Ohio, educated at Bowling Green State University, leads 500 children at Oneida and Amanda Elementary Schools.
