Another Lot For Autoists Being Cleared
Middletown may gain a new downtown parking lot at Main Street and Columbia Avenue. James Curry and August Schmidt, co owners, say the 100 by 150 foot lot is being filled with sand and could become a parking area if not sold. Two houses remain but are expected to be removed soon. The site could suit a mercantile building such as a department store, though a ban on commercial construction hampers expansion.
