Spindler Recalls Colorado River Ramblers Trip
Walter Spindler described a four day river journey to 36 Ramblers Club members at Ear Klein’s home. The expedition began at Lee’s Ferry and traced the John Wesley Powell route 100 years after 1869. The tale covers heat, Arizona nights, river mud, abandoned ruins, a Grand Canyon trek, mule ride to the South Rim, and a total of 235 miles ending at Lake Mead with music from Grieg Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite in the background.
