In Karachi Pakistan the head of Pakistan International Airlines Air Marshal Nur Khan tried to seize a hijacker during negotiations. The man opened fire wounding Nur Khan but was overpowered by 22 hostages and dragged from a Fokker 27 soon after landing. The bullet was removed from Nur Khan’s stomach and he is improving after a two hour operation. The hijacker, an army deserter, had commandeered the Sukkur to Karachi flight.
