Washington AP reports the Johnson administration eyes an April date for the 10 percent surtax package affecting individuals with a retroactive corporate date. Officials plan to present budget figures and seek Ways and Means review as Congress weighs defense of the dollar and inflation control.
A Morrow woman Dorothy Eikelberger aged 24 is held in Warren County jail charged with shooting Estel Burger operator of Hopkinsville Sohio Station at the 3-C Highway and Rt. 48 intersection. Burger was shot in the stomach and remained critical after surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital Cincinnati yesterday. Mrs. Burger had filed for divorce months earlier.
Hamilton attorney Charles H. Jones outlined Gov Rhodes plans for a new Ohio Water Development Authority with an eight year term board to oversee water resources and authorize a $265 million state bond issue. About $100 million would fund pollution control facilities with participation from state local and federal authorities.
Richard W. Warrix 22 of Dayton waived a preliminary hearing after a Jan 7 United Dairy Store robbery in Fairfield. Warrix bound over to Butler County grand jury. four juveniles also involved. Others cited include Mary E. Smith driving while intoxicated and a string of traffic and minor charges from Fairfield area cases.
Glyndell M. Short operating as the Airport Inn at 1701 Germantown Road faces a seven day liquor permit suspension by the Ohio Liquor Control Commission. The action starts February 5 for Sunday sales with another Sunday consumption charge noted.

A 33-year-old Middletown man, Karl Bowman of 110 Webster Street, pleaded guilty to embezzling more than 160 dollars from Franz Service Station on August 5 1966. He was ordered to the Lima State Hospital for 60 days of examination while already serving a jail sentence for assault and battery. The case will be disposed after the hospital report is filed.
