Springboro district seeks new bond and levy to ease overcapacity
The Springboro district covering Clearcreek Township plans a 2009 collection for a bond issue funding two new elementary schools and remodels to raise capacity from 4,300 to 6,900 students. An emergency operating levy would add about 366 annually for a $100,000 home, to cover salaries utilities and other costs. District treasurer Tim Dettwiller and board member Dianne Trifiro defend the plan as fiscally prudent, noting potential staff cuts if the levy fails while stressing no deficit, despite rising fuel costs and inflationary pressures.
