Middletown painter Kenneth L. Jones, linked to Ball family lineage, says he knew of no court decision when The Journal reported the Supreme Court refused to hear his case seeking over 33 million dollars in interest on U. S. stock bought in the 1770s. A Justice Department brief argued the 1796 act set final redemption dates only for bonds sold to states, not individuals. Jones plans to review Supreme Court rules and pursue further steps as the lengthy effort to recover bonds continues for him and other family members.
