Chrysler Plans 600 Acre Monroe Plant Site for Future Development
Chrysler Corp has options on 600 acres in Monroe in Warren County near I-75 and Ohio 63 for future development. The land, largely in Monroe city limits within the Middletown School District, could host a stamping plant with initial employment around 2,500 rising to 4,700, and a $50 million investment for a 2.5 million square foot facility patterned after a Twinsburg plant. Construction would take 12 to 18 months once planned, producing 1,650 autos daily and using 800 tons of steel with 35 percent scrap.
